VK Body-type question

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me out.

My husband has spotted a neat 85 VK wagon for sale near by. He had a good look over it yesterday. Very neat and straight, comes with the black motor - on auto and has relatively low k's.

Anyway, we're very keen on buying it but I had one question.

It's badged as an Executive and from what I can tell, the VK Exec didn't come out with the black motor (only SL, Berlina and Vacationer I think?).

Does anyone know for sure if the Exec had a V8 option?

We have the body number written down, is there anyway I can tell from the number what the car actually is?

I don't mind if the black has been dropped in an Exec, I just want to know what actual car I'm getting IYKWIM.

SL and Executive are the same. Mine had an executive badge on the back, and an SL badge inside....I guess Holden were just half way between crossing over to the exec or sumfin.
