i have a vc commodore and my boyfriend bought me some wheels off a vn commodore y wont they fit please help i hope im in the right section
You already got your answer in the pub, but heres a more indepth answer for later research.
The starfire commodore has a 4.75" (120.65mm) stud pattern, which is the same as some Torana's and HQ-WB stud patterns. A standard (6cyl and V8) commodore stud pattern is 4.725" (120mm), as you can tell these are awfully close. Unfortunatly they are close enough to fit with a bit of force. BUT DO NOT DO IT. It puts alot of stress on the studs, and eventually breaks the studs, and you losing a wheel.
The stud pattern is measured from the centre of one stud, to the centre of the next.
Im not really sure what your options are in regards to new rims, as I would imagine HQ-WB rims (the right stud pattern) would have the wrong off set. You could try look for some starfires mags, or look at upgrading to a 6cyl stud pattern.
More info on the dangers of fitting commodore rims to your stud pattern.
having a look at what you've put under "ride" you've got a 4cyl VC Commodore, they used the torana stud pattern ( can't remeber exactly what it is possibly 5x120.65? ) anyway the commodore stud pattern is 5x120 so yeah they won't fit, if you want mags you'd have to get ones off a torrie or ones that suit that stud pattern.
edit: tom beat me to it!
We got rep back, yaaay!
sorry i must of deleted my account .i measured the studs and there 5 x 108 which is nothing like hq or commodore why didnt you blokes just say that instead of being rude
from the centre of one stud to the center of the other stud diagonally across .(i googled how to do it )

This matter has been raised before. Most of your info is ok, but you have made a major blunder with the model fitment.
The four cylinder Misfire Commodore ran the same stud pattern as FE to HG Holdens and LC to UC Toranas. The HQ changed to a Chevrolet stud pattern and this carried right through to the end of the WB's. Commodores then came out with their own stud pattern, which as you point out, is extremely close but not a match for the HQ-WB pattern.
The options for the four cylinder Commie are to get alloys for FE to HG/LC to UC, but be careful of the offset.
And flog off the wheels they already have that don't fit.
they are rare because people scrap them for the following reasons:
1. they are a 4cyl therefore they are slow
2. because they have a 4cyl with no power it means you have to travel foot to the floor 24/7 so fuel economy isn't great.
3. they arn't worth shit ( for a immacuate one i wouldn't pay over 700 bucks for )
We got rep back, yaaay!
there has been a few ford members on here, all members are welcome as long as all remain civil
hate to break it to you, but theres a lot of non commodores on here. dont like it, you can soon leave.
Miscellaneous - Just Commodores
well thanks tom but whats an offset
im sensing your intellect has a negative offset of -30
