Default vl rb30 into vh sl/e

hey guys well after spending the last few hours searching though various forums inc this one i am in need of some info/help.

as most have seen it the my ride thread i am going to be putting in a rb30 everything seems is straight forward as ive found out..

what i need to know at this stage is the wiring what have people done that have done the coversion i see alot of people using the entire vl dash but nah not for me...

has anyone done it where u have used the original vh wiring at the booster if so do you have a diagram that you used?

can anyone scan and email me or direct me to a vl engine compartment wiring diagram for rb30 including KEY ie wire colours and item numbers?

    thanks

    Bill (vh_sle_81)

i'm going to use factor vl loom and where the plug runs for power and ignition rewire that to my vn loom

You need a vl wiring diagram and one for your sle and some brains and pateince i find gregories are the best source apart from factory manuals for wiring diagrams

yeah would be nice if someone can post them up save me buying a vl gregories to.
I was going to cut the other end of the plug off the vl loom then wire that end onto the vn loom. You will have more work to do than me as yours might not have some wires needed for the loom

yeh would rather not have to go buy another gregorys just for this but its looking like i will have too at this stage...

yeh same as what im planning on doing using the vl connections with the vh's body wiring or just cut both connectors off and make up some new connectors...

keep the vh dash its much nicer than the vl
i did the swap 7 months ago and kept the vh dash
keep the vl engine wires seperate from the vh body wires
as the engine only realy needs power to it you dont need to join many between the
two looms dash lights starter reverse and ignition power for the computer
get a manual gearbox itll save hours of work
computers are the same just close of any wires for the auto
buy an internal vr fuel pump for $80-$100 and get rid of the two vl crappy ones
and the mounting brackets when swapping tanks
i pulled the brackets off the vh vl radiator tanks and swapped them cost $100
so it dropped straight in, had to get a shorter alternator belt so it missed the bottom hose
vh gear box crossmember fit with a small spacer and a little mod (manual box)
as yet no cat converter, it does not fit, ive heard you can buy slim ones?
    all up easy swap
