Howz it goin, I'm having problems with me VK with a Black 202 EFI.
She's having trouble turning and wont start. It sounds like as it were a flat battery but I tested
the battery and sparkies and there's plenty of spark giving a reading of 12.87V.
I took the starter out and its got plenty of kick with a 1200 amp jump kit. I tried that magnetic oil
stuff before cause there were other probs but when I changed it back to the old engine oil I saw it
looked burnt. I'm also hearing a squeaking noise when she's struggling to turn over.
check the earth cable to the rad support, might need a clean.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
look at the actual voltage across the battery while you are cranking the starter
If its dropping below 10V, the battery is weak. If its staying above 11V, you have bad connections somewhere, both of which will give the same symptoms you report.
Cheers, I've checked the voltage and she's fine. She's got a brand new century heavy duty battery. before, when the engine did kick over the battery seemed to go flat when she was idling but this might be a seperate problem.
Me mate said it might be either the piston rings are busted or the oil cavities are blocked which could be why she makes a struggling scratching noise during ignition. What should be the pressure reading for a pressure test? This way I can definately say it's the rings
I've just got a matching block but it doesnt have a starter. Could I just do a clean swap without doing anything with the timing?
