I used a VL diff in my old VH, and used the rear half of the VK borgy tailshaft....didn't run into any probs....since then I sold my VL diff and we've got a few VK borgy diffs, which have bolted in the same with the same tailshaft with no probs.....so altho I don't know for sure if they're different, I'm 99.99% sure they are the same....they'd have to be....the only major difference between them is the gears and the VL diff is slightly wider.

I had a stripped out hole for the centre bearing.....was also in my old VH.....my uncle helped me fix it, I rekon he rethreaded it with a tap and die set. If worst comes to worst, pull up ya carpet and drill out the hole, weld a nut to the floor and put new bolts in underneath.

Consider a helicoil in the nut rather than welding in a replacement.

Hmmm.....the only thing I can think of is maybe it's not a VK borgy tailshaft. Where bouts did u get it from? As VL's and VN's and onwards have different transmissions all together, could it be out of one of them?

You are going to need the front half of the original tail shaft and the rear of a BW tail shaft. Or you can change the rear yoke on your original tail shaft.

Are you using a 6 cyl tail shaft as the original unit? Was that one in the picture out of the car? Then that is your problem. You need a V8 shaft as they are longer at the front. That will put the centre bearing in the correct position, then it is a matter of using the rear half of a V8 BW shaft.

Nice to see people stealing my pics for them selves!.

Anyway, the area where the centre bearing bolts up, i took mine out cause both threads were rooted and put in bolts in there, so now it has two studs.

a complete V8 VL tailshaft goes straight in, dont have to stuff around with a VB-VK front and VL rear
