Hey there, I've been wanting to put a T5 behind the 202 in my vk. Its currently got a Filipino 4 speed, but I'm building a fairly warm efi 202 so i don't think it'll hold. I've heard the ford t5s are almost identical to a commodore t5 and can be fitted behind a 202. They are available fairly cheaply now.
CRS has a kit to bolt up a holden t5 to a 202 using a m20 bellhousing (I think).
My question is, will the CRS kit work for the ford t5?
I also hear that the ford box has taller ratios. Would this be a problem?
Thanks.
The Ford Borgwarner T5 is a great match, the adapter plate using the M2x series bellhousing is fine and works well. make sure you get the speedo drive witht he box as you need to unscrew the electronic part off it and have a speedo cable made to screw onto it.
I would also get the tailshaft as you may need to do some marrying up of parts there.
Clutch works well just standard clutch cable from memory.
Nothing wrong with the ford ratios they will be fine close to your fillo box.
cheers
Scott

Ok thanks, but what clutch would i actually run? Not the filipino one I wouldn't think?
just wondering why you wudnt run a holden t5...coz of the price difference??
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I was just wondering, what would be needed aside form the T5 itself to do the conversion from a trimatic? Would I be able to buy an M20 conversion kit, and then flog off the M20 and use the Ford T5 instead? This is for a carby 202 blue btw.
