Just a heads up for anybody looking for the G8 style chrome mirror covers.

Saw a set on an SS and asked the guy where he got them, he told me from Holden and sure enough checked the updated Holden site and there they are.

Nice. I just heard about these yesterday in another thread.

Do you have a link to the Holden site where you saw them? How much are they asking? Do they slip over the mirrors or replace the painted plastic part of the mirrors?

Sorry bout the 20 questions lol...

I found them on the Holden site:

Accessories - Products & Services - Holden. Go better.

$165 fitted is reasonable I spose. No picture of them though. I did see a pic of some yesterday on the Pontiac site (assuming they're the same ones):

Select Accessories

It's hard to tell what they look like on the car though, so DJ Ice perhaps you could enlighten us? Do they cover just the painted bit or the whole mirror?

They've also got chrome door handles on that Pontiac site which I can't find at Holden. They look good IMO...

They just cover/replace the painted part...I'm going to order a set today will post more details when I know.

Checkout Holmart for the chrome door handles.

Cool, I'm keen to hear how easy / hard they are to fit and what's involved.

Covers arrived today, fitted them myself in around 5 mins. The original painted parts unclip and the new chrome ones clip in their place, comes with instructions.

One of mine was scratched out of the box which dealer is replacing so I suggest you check them before handing over the cash.

I think they look best on dark coloured cars but that's just my personal preference.

Part number GM-92214921

Nice, thanks for the update. Looks great.

So, how exactly do you get the exisiting covers off? Flat blade screwdriver? (Ouch, that could be dangerous!)

They look good DJ Ice, your right though they look heaps better on darker coloured cars, and because the Calais has the chrome windows surrounds it ties it all in.
Would look pretty crap on mine I think!

The replacement for the damaged cover arrived today and guess what ? Exactly the same mark...so there is a bad batch out there. Dealer is going to contact Melbourne and see what turns up.

davey g-force I'll post the instructions up later when I reinstall my scanner.
