Hey guys need to lower my ve ss and there's an add on eBay for monroe gt shocks struts with king springs for about $680.
Now I got three options
1st option: super low all around
2nd option: super low front, ultra low rear
3rd option: ultra low all around
Can you guys help me with the best option for a nice riding height for the ss please as I got no clue about lowering a car?
Thanks
Nik
Ye but I want peoples opinion on which one of the three choices I should go for in particular Im thinking of goin for the ultra all around but scared it might scrape too much
Ps I got 19" ssv rims
There's a 15mm difference between the superlow & ultralow springs, i have the superlows on my ssv which lowered it 50mm(f) & 60mm(r) from standard fe2 spec. When i first had the superlows in mine i thought that it wasnt low enough but i dont regret it now as there's not alot of clearance between the front bar & most concrete parking pillars & curbs, also ive got a full twin 3inch exhaust & i find i can clear most speedhumps if i take it easy with just me in the car but if i have a full car load then i have f@# all chance(you could make it over if your exhaust is a twin 2.5inch).
Thanks for ur feedback mate I do have 2 1/2 inch exhaust. I'm actually leaning towards ultra low rear and superlow front to give the ve that level look u know
VE SS Have 19's as standard yea?
If so I would say SL's all round.
SL front and UL rears is just screeming out TOOOL
And UL all round will give you a better chance of a pretty yellow sticker.
if you go any lower than ssl you will scrape on EVERYTHING on the front, but on the rear go as low as you can
so Ultra lows r lower than SSLs
and SSLs r lower than SLs?
if you go super lows i wouldnt put short shocks cause you dont really need them. if you only want a little lower go super lows.. want it slammed go ultra low and short shocks.
i thought SL were lows, SSL were superlows and SSSL were ultralows...
thank u tomholzy ur right mate i just checked the king springs online catalogue....
im goin for SSLs which r superlows all around with monroe shocks.....
thanks every1 for ur input appreciate it
i thought it was
sl- super lows
ssl's super super lows
sssl's super super super lows or also known as ultra lows
According to the catalogue king springs ssl = super lows. And sssl = ultra lows
I sent a email to king springs
I have a Holden VE SS MY9.5. I will be fitting a set of 20" wheel with 243/35/20 tyres. What springs do I need so the top of the tyre is level or close to the gaurd?
I was told to use SSSL's this confused me a little until I relized these were Ultra Lows. I would like to know how correct this is. Only one way, try and learn.
Whats the number in the front of the part number?

as quoted with those photos in the cars are ssl or super super lows.. hence the 2 s's
what did you end up getting? im currently tossing up between 22s for my car and lowering it to floor or doing it safe with 20s and lowering it to the floor..
hey man if u go to a holden dealer they can do it for usually around 550 with performance springs, lowest legal and a wheel balance
I've got 20" wheels ... SSL frond and back....
Gives you an idea... Rides really good....well compared to stock suspension anyways...![]()
my car is on superlows all round, i got the same package off ebayi think the central muffler on my exhaust hates me >_>
