How does a VE handbrake work what's different from earlier models?
I can have my VE in park with handbrake on when I lean on front or back, the car shifts/moves is this normal

Works the same as earlier models.

How much does it move? How far does the handbrake lever come up when you apply it?

The handbrake shoes float in the drum part of the rotor so there will be a tiny bit of forward/backward movement.

I have a problem with my handbrake aswell. On a reasonable incline my handbrake will not hold the car for a hill start, i have to balance the clutch and the throttle to keep it in the same place without moving? What can i do?

Learn to drive manual.

nah seriously get your handbrake tightened, any place that services cars should be able to do it for you.
