Been reading on the internet and on this forum about the SIDIs and due to the fuel injection being direct that they suffer from alot of carbon build up in the upper intake.
Im wanting to give the intake a good clean since I bought the car about a month ago and it has 16,500kms on it. Can someone tell me which intake hose to disconnect and spray the cleaner into? Do I do it while the car is running or while it is off? Or a combination of both?
Thanks all

Fit an oil catch-can (I install an Elite Engineering one) now and you wont have to worry about upper intake clean.

Just emptied the catch-can last night and here is a photo of the crap I'm stopping going back into the intake and eventually building up on the back of the valves.

Interesting, where did you mount the catch can? Do you run the hose from the rocker cover to the catch can then the hose runs through to the manifold?

it has the "steel wool" stuff in the top section.

Top piece of gear.

There are 2 hoses, one from the can which attaches to the rocker (drivers side) and the other to the middle of the manifold.

See photos.

Should be fine. Its not vented so all gases stay within the PCV system, you can hardly see it when I have the radiator shroud on.

yep 100% the PCV system is there to prevent oil vapours from entering the atmosphere. regardless of how its done, as long as it doesnt vent outside the engine its legal.

of course a piss-ant cop can dick you for it being and aaftermarket mod, but technically speaking, as long as it vents back to the PCV, its fine.

Nice quality can. That's the one for me until I seen the price. Did you buy local or from US, how much.

When you lift the plastic cover off engine there is a small hose in the top middle of manifold. That's where I will inject if I can keep engine running. It pulls straight out with nothing but a oring. The fly by wire makes it hard as I don't think there is a hand throttle in the engine bay.
