I'm not an expert on Calais, always thought they were for bogans 10 years after being released because they're "hell rare bro, only 2,500 VL Manual Calais made and the interior is mint"

BUUUUT don't they only have the chrome strip on Series II models?

Hi there
Looking at installing this reverse camera Holden Commodore VY VZ VE 1 CCD CAR Rear View Reverse Parking Camera Look | eBay . The only problem is the chrome strip on the boot blocks it's view so will need modifying. Just have no idea how to get it off!

Maybe try downloading a workshop manual?
There was a thread years ago for a G8 workshop manual but the link won't open for me
But I did keep the url out of the thread to download the manual :)

Google and having an S1 Calais at one end of my street and an S1 Calais V at the other has taught me:
Calais = no rear or side chrome strips
Calais V = rear and side chrome strips

I think it's 2 screws either side ther pull horizontally towards yourself. Held on with 3-4 slide clips.

There are 5 clips but they do not screw. I've tried forcing them down from the inside of the boot but with no luck
