Ok, got my water pump sorted. The auto trans is starting to lag when cold so I assume a service is in order. Does anyone know if it's too difficult to do at home and, if so, what would be a fair price for a mechanic to charge?

An Auto Transmission Specialist will charge somewhere in the region of $250 - $300 and that should include the quality fluid as recommended by Holden. They will also (obviously) check and adjust and report on overall condition - something that the average person doing the job at home would not be able to do. Good luck.

I've been to a couple for a fluid change and its been $100 and $120 labour (I supply the parts)
Not sure if you need DexVI like mine does but I buy (Castrol) at repco when they have 30% off $90 down to $60ish x2 and the filter and gasket from Pace in the states. So about $350 all up.
