VE Commodore Omega
VE Commie Power

Hey guys,

I am just looking to do some performance upgrades of my 07 Commie Omega.

Besides putting performance chips, changing exhausts how can get more performance and power out of it?

Right now it is stock.

Cheers

S.

I have the same and am also interested in hearing about some mods. I'm guessing cold air induction would be a start if you dont consider exhaust/chip

Well you will need some sort of exhaust change or maybe even just whack on a VE SS exhaust system from the cats back...

Other things you can do are: CAI, extractors, changing diff ratio (3.27), short shifter...

That's the main things that you can do for performance and power gains unless you really want to spend big which isn't really worth it.

If money is not a problem then you can go for cams + tune...even some sort of forced induction

short throw shifters wont help much with an auto. and omega's have 3.27 ratio diffs from factory.

pretty sure omegas have 2.92 open spin diff from factory,
Calais and SV6 have 2.92 LSD (V6's)
then i think SS has 3.27 or 3.43
GTS has 3.7.

Actually i know the omega has a 2.92, i swapped my open diff for 2.92 LSD a few weeks back.

The high performance V6 has 2.92 LSD, where as the lower V6 has the 3.27 diff. I've checked mine and its 3.27 and here is another source on the ratios plus more info on the VE range:

Thanks for that link - good info.
Ill check my old diff tomorrow to see what it says on it (if anything)
I only have the standard omega so no high output, and have now got the 2.92 LSD, but speedo isnt out or anything - any idea why?? i wouldve thought different diff ratios would throw it out yes??
will report my findings tomorrow.... im all curious now....
mine is a dec 06 make - is that likely to make any difference you reckon?

also i recall reading somewhere a while back, that you could get a factory "sports" option or some such which gave FE2 suspension and LSD on the omega...

If you want the LSD or FE2, they only come as a package with each other, not alone. So your right and it's available as a factory fitted option.
