How can I tell what model it is?
6G1EK54778L150679
6G1EK42B89L158390
The model change over was between these 2 numbers so some place between L150679 and L158390.
The bold number is the MY08 and MY09. Change over is normally Sep of each year but can vary.

Thanks 88greenvn mine does have a 9 and was purchased new in October '08 but probably made before that. Cheers Jeff
Just found out some more info- if your number on your vin before the L is a 9 and it was manufactured between march and october '08 it is a MY09. MY08 was discontinued in feb '08. Technically mine is a 2009 model but made in '08. Confusing Holdens!
Can't be an 09 model made in 08. No such thing. The actual date of manufacture is the year of that model. e.g. a vehicle manufactured in October 09 is a 2009 model. Manufactured in May 10, a 2010 model. The first VE hit the streets in 2006. Subsequent builds (2007, 2008, 2009) are not still 2006 models. Remember, IT IS THE DATE STAMPED ON THE COMPLIANCE/BUILD PLATE.
I don't think this is correct. Mine is a 2008 VE SSV MY09. It has the silver dash trims and the 3 digital gauges in the centre console. It can in fact be made in 2008 model but be a Model Year 2009.
Another of example sort of the same is Norton Anti virus. It is 2009 now yet there is Norton Antivirus 2010 in the shops
on the compliance plate under the vin
it went MY 07, 08, 09, 09.5 and
anything after august 09 is 2010 models with SIDI motors
Mine is a MY9.5 model (that's what I ordered anyway as I got a discount for it) and the compliance plate has OCT09 as the build date. Did I score a MY10 model for the discount?? hehe
