Still using excess oil, still havent heard back about the "Mythical PCV Fix" so i guess that it was a line fed to me, Used 2ltrs this time in 4,000km. the car now 9mths old has over 20,600km. Wish i could invoice them for my lost time since i spend 1hr there every couple of weeks and have to shuffle my work load around.

Yeah that is not good enough. I'd be asking them for a copy of all the service records they have at the dealership on your car and your dealings with them and you also need to write down your experience. Advise them that you will be discussing it with Holden directly and Consumer Affairs. If they don't do anything then send off your complaint.

There's obviously a serious defect with your engine, maybe a hole in the casting around the cylinder wall, missing valve seal or who knows.

Its only had the 3,000km service and the 15,000km the next service is not until 30,000km (although i am sure they changed the oil after the last oil consumption test.

    P.s

If it doesn't get fixed soon, you will see a SV6 sports wagon with some nice big sign writing on the side and back, and with the 30,000km i do each year it should get some exposure.

Should really service it every 7500kms as 15k intervals were created to make it more attractive to fleet companies and private buyers with no mechanical knowledge. It will last the life of the warranty with 15k intervals but no guarantees beyond that.

I do mine, oil and filter, every 5000kms and after travelling 175,000kms its still quiet on cold start and still makes decent horsepower. Mines an 8 though but the Alloytecs are a lot more prone to sludging which makes servicing more often even more important.

Doesnt blow smoke enough to see it, or leave a oily residue in the exhaust, but i must have a look in the throttle body. to see if it goes in there

Service every 7500km is great but we are talking between 1 and 2.5ltrs after 3,000km so if i waited to 7,500km the car would consume approx 2.5ltrs and 5ltrs

My 1980 V8 Xd falcon doesnt chew more than 200ml in 10,000km, My wife CRV doesnt chew any noticable oil in 10,000km and in my old 2008 Hilux petrol 4x4 the oil mark on the dipstick did not move.

Also at the end of the 3yr lease i will get rid of it, was going to keep it to upgrade the wife but unless it gets fixed i wont keep it. which is a shame as besides this and the crappy Nav system i like the car.

Servicing every 7.5k was in general, obviously not applicable to your situation and high oil consumption.

Keep the pressure on to fix the issue, even demand a free loan car and leave it there till its fixed.

Car goes back end of next week for its 3rd consumption test, this time they are talking about shoving a camera down a few holes and getting some pictures to see where the oil is going, They again mention Holden was looking into a replacement Rocker cover & PCV, I said i will believe that when i see it in writting.

I have checked the dipstick and it is down slightly maybe 200mls but i have only done city driving and next week i have two trips to camberra.
