Hey all.
Got some Advanti Sonic 20" (With Achillies ATR Sports) on our VE SS 2007. Got them done from Tech 9 Tyres in Subiaco (crap service!!) about 2 months ago. Was told they would be fine.
Go to hop into the car today and the rear left wheel is flat, pump it up to 33PSI and there are huge bubbles on the wall (which has obviously been fractured). Take the wheel off and there are even bigger bubbles all on the inside of the wheel. There is also excessive camber wear on the inside of the tyre, taken a good couple of MM off. (The other rear wheel is fine).
I've been told by our friend mechanic that most VE's were released and the back wasn't balanced properly (from the factory). What are my options here? Is my only option to buy a new tyre (should I go the same or replace both back tyres with some Kumho KU31's?) and buy a camber kit?? Or is there something else that can be done?
Get a 4 wheel alignment by somebody who knows what they are doing. VE's are easy to knock out of alignment, especially the rears. Makes the car drive like crap and is very nervous over bumps at speed. A good alignment makes a world of difference. Sounds like you are up for some new tyres.
