Last week i had my battery die, 2nd time in a week... but both times have been after me playing around with the car (1st time dynamat - interior light!) & 2nd time HID upgrade, constantly turning lights on and off.
I know that the battery shouldn't die due to these, but its still on its original from 2007 so due a new one anyway..
Anywhoo..
Phoned up holden and asked them about the issue.
The service guy tells me: - "It's the battery, we have changed the type we use now, i'll put you through to spares"
Spares tell me: - "No idea mate, it's the same battery being used as we always have, nothing was changed"
so back to service.. and explained to the guy that i know there was an issue in the past and that there maybe a software update required..
Service: - "hmmm, mmmm, maybe... bring the car down and we will diagnose it.. and then we'll go through and update every computer
me: - great, book it in for wed... how much
Service: = "couldn't tell you, about $60-$120 for diagnostics and then $120 per hour to update each computer and we can't tell you how long that will take..."
Me... "so you want a blank cheque"
Service: = "ha ha.. see you wed"
Today is thursday... forgot to take it in! didn't hear from them either?!? what fun!
geez, just buy another battery (good brand) and be done with the bullsh*t updates
i think he meant the software updates, not ur updates on the happenings with ur car :P
Sorry Tom mate - one of those days! :-)
RAA told me to change too - there batteries any good?
