I've used the search button and used Google, sorry if this is a repeated question.
The only thing I don't like about the car (before I buy it) is the HUGE lion badge on the front. I DON'T want a Chevy grille.
Besides the HSV style painted units, is there another alternative grille for these cars? I'm ok with having a lion on the front, just don't need a dinner plate sized ad on my car.
Thanks

Sydney Special Vehicles are selling a grille for the Series 2 VE. It is very similar to the Blue Meanie grille sold for the Series 1 VE's. Cheap to compared to HDT's one.
Unfortunately they arent making one for the Series 1
Thanks Bonners.
I saw that painted one before I posted this

But thought the example looked like plasticine and the paint match was terrible
Anyone have one of these that can tell me it looks much better in real life than it does above?

get onto Nick at Hi-Torque in Brisbane. he can sell you a replacement disc for the chrome lion.
That looks crap!!!
I reckon it would look ok in black, but matching body colour doesnt look right (even if you were to get it spot on). There needs to be 'a hole' in the front.... whether real, or perceived with a different colour.
I still rekcon the lion looks better. Have you seen matt black lions? They look good (well at least better than the dinnerplate sized standard bling bling).

paint the lion black or colour coded to make it less obvious??
I got mine painted back, got a pic in my car's thread i posted yesterday if u wanna see what it looks like
Totally agree it looks crap... If you wanted to fit an OTR later you'd probably have to remove it as it wouldn't let enough airflow through...
Getting (and or doing youself) painted the chrome lion (dinner plate) black seems to be quite effective. But agree with you on why there is not an alternative to the chev bow-tie. What I think would look nice (IMO) is the same chrome strip on the chevy grill minus the bow-tie, or have the bow-tie in chrome also and the same thickness at the strip.. If that makes sense.. The whole lion emblem needs a revamp, its been around for decades. Needs some modernisation......
Cheers
Phil
Thanks I found the examples on another forum.
Not a bad and very reasonably priced option
Thanks everyone

I know the front lion badge is big and everything - but it isn't THAT big! Has nobody else noticed Merc or VW or Pug badges of late??? The lion just isn't that bad in the scheme of things. There are much more obnoxious badges going around.

When I get paid to advertise the car I paid them for, they can put their dinner plate on the front. Until then ... no
Thanks Smitty, Thats what I'm looking for. $60 +$15 for the badge? Huge difference

Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.

Put one of those fronts on it. I like that badge a ton better:
