Opinions on a change??

Hey guys been registered to forums for a long time but barely post. At the moment im in a a bit of a pickle on the idea of change.

I have my black 2008 Sv6 for sale



And basically a mate at work is wanting to sell his car which is a 2006 Silver VE SSV.

Pro's to buying new car
-6.0L V8 Manual
-Sunroof
-3 grand full exhaust system( His words its sounds very nice )
-DvD player
- then obviously all the extras a SSV has to a SV6
-Less Km's then mine

Con's
- Theres only really 1 con to it which is i will be back stepping the model year from 2008 to 2006..

I'm very keen on the idea but just wanted to know whats your general opinions on this change are & has anyone upgraded similar to this..

Con - costs, higher fuel, higher insurance, higher rego, higher service costs

What's the changeover price compared to a MY08 and up SSV?

as tin said. thatd be my main point of thought. if its within say $5g odd id be lookin at goin the 08 instead of backsteppin 2 years. how much does this bloke want?? and how much you lookin for for yours? if you dont mind sharing!

all good advice so far.

get a firm price for your car and then decide what to buy after you have the cash.
more often than not it takes a LOT longer to sell cars than people first realise, and for probably less than what you expect.

pros/cons.... pretty much covered. its hard to compare a 6 to an 8. if you want an 8, how can you justify keeping a 6- totally different beasts.

my only reservation is its an 06. i have a personal rule that I never buy first make body shapes. nearly always rattles and squeaks that are perfected on later models.

but if you are happy with car on test drive, and service history is all good, then go for it (after selling yours!).

My car has 40000-KM done to it and im wanting roughly $27000, as for the guys car He wants about $32000 but has done 28000-KM..

It's a early model so expect issues.

They hold value pretty well once over the initial big drops. Not much difference in price....although that 07 one has only got 24000 on the clock.
