Default How do you launch an auto?

I know this sounds like a bogan hoon question. But my friend and I are wondering how you're meant to launch an auto car off the line?

I have an app on my phone which supposedly calculates a whole pile of car related stuff. I was interested in my 0-100 time as that was the only legal thing I could find out, and I wanted to see how far away it was from what is advertised.

As it turns out, my sv6 took about 9seconds to get to 100.

As far as I can see, to get a decent start, I could either have my left foot on the brake and accelerate with my right, then let off the brake to launch? Or, have it in neutral, rev, then dump it into drive?

Nail the brake, bring the revs up, release and lay into the right pedal gets you this

You're half right mate. Best way to get an auto to launch is stick it in neutral, build it to about 4000rpm (that's where max torque is) and then quickly select "R" for "race".

When I want to launch an auto I feed a mate prunes then drive off a bridge. You get to launch the auto and he dumps in his pants. My wife thinks I drive like Mister Magoo so I aint the one to give you any advice.
