Hi every1, i got a quick question for all, is it normal to have an idle vibration on my 2009 ve ss..I mean when the car is in parking or neutral like on traffic lights e.t.c there is a vibration in my car and anyone can feel it as it is obvious, if you open the door or the hood you can see it shaking a littlllle bit, the dealer says its default and normal on all v8 commodores and v8 caprice....any comments

usually its caused by broken/damaged engine mounts
Hi mate,
Unless its shaking violently its prob just the torque of the engine moving it around a little, all normal apparently
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME.... STILL WAITING LOL
well its not really annoying i would say although the dealer does say its normal and default cuz of 8 v's under da hood...

All depends on how much vibration your talking about... I get a little rock n' roll but nothing that anyone would go geez whats that! Has it always done it or just recently?
If recently it could be attributed to a recent fuel fill or a number of other things... As the 2 posts above have indicated - worn or damaged engine mounts, engine torque.
its like dat since day 1 when i fired it up at the dealers @ 3 km on the odometer...

From my experience, your dealer is correct, a tiny bit of movement from side to side at idle is normal, I like it![]()
well so do I....but was just curious cuz honestly da dealers here in saudi are shit........

I have a Chevey Caprice Royal "Fully Loaded Holden Caprice ME version",
And honestly this rocking & vibrating motion is totally annoying & does give a clear indication of bad engineering & rushed production, even though Holden keeps barging about how much they spent to develop this car from the scratch...
Maybe it is cool for a commodore VE SS & sportier versions, but mine I bought as a luxury car and when it is rocking like an old cradle from Day one... That is really disappointing indeed...
All that V8 power has got to go somewhere when you are sitting at the lights![]()
But saying that my parents WM Caprice does not do this.
Check out my VE Commodore My Omega Mods
If you're not already, try running a couple of tanks of some higher octane 98 fuel through it (from a different servo to be on the safe side)
See if that makes a difference.
My ute will sit at lights with a small amount vibration. Although its a V6 - i assume the V8 does it more.
I wouldn't worry unless it's excessive. Come to think of it the vibration is less now with 95 premium rather than e10.
Mine didn't have enough shake. All sorted now though haha
They do shake a little bit when stock but only very little.
