I dunno about 'losing their tunes', but when they do a software update you'll probably have to drive around a bit so the car can 'learn' your driving style again. Not sure what the exact km is.... I think it's a few hundred clicks.

Thats where Ford tunes with the CAPA box rules over Holden. Before you take your car in for a service, you just re-install the factory tune. If they happen to flash it, you still have your tune (in the CAPA box) When you get home you just re-flash your tune back in. So to answer your question. Yes. I knew a guy with a tuned F250 and forgot to OEM flash and he lost his tune. He said that was the most expensive service he ever had

Yep if Holden flash update your ECM you will more than likely loose the previous tune (LS1, LS2, LS3 Edit) setup from your tuner. Some tuners keep a copy of the setup for your car (incase this happens) and all thats required is to reflash it back to the previous tune and your off.

You can mention to your dealer not to update the ECM without telling you what the updates are for. Sometimes there might be critical software updates required to do with a national campaign recall or techline. There would need to be done to maintain warranty, in this case you may need to have your tuner redo the ECM edit to take into consideration the required Holden update.

    Cheers
    Phil
