Default Looking at buying a VE SS Sportswagon and looking for some advice.

    Hey Guys,
My missus and i have our second child on the way and as such we are looking at purchasing a car with a bit more room than our current 08 Subaru Liberty Sedan.

We have decided that a Sportswagon is the way to go after heavily considering a Kluger. It is a bit of a compromise as i wanted something sporty (V8!!) and the missus wants the room...

Just a couple of quick questions for you guys though...as i cant seem to find anything via the search function.

    1. Ipod connectivity?? What does the series one have in the way of ipod connection?? Is it only by the 3.5mm stereo jack?? And if so where is the jack found??

    2. Is there anyway to have phone connection (ie. Handsfree) integrated with the stereo or would be have to settle for something like a parrot or similar?? Obviously the series 2 has it built in but what about the series one??

Thats all i can think of at the moment....so any advice would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

    Benny J

3.5mm jack is located on the centre console/radio. Easy to get to.

They have bluetooth but i have never used it. Built in mic and uses speakers. From what i have read its not the greatest.

So is there actually an ipod option or do you just listen to it through AUX??

Oh and thanks for the heads up on the sportwagon....hahahaha

Ipod plugs into the aux jack. No matter what anybody says, its awful. For a car as well designed as it was that was a fundamental flaw on the VE. I dont bother. There is a aftermarket ipod connectivity kit which will do it properly but it is about $800. And dont think the Series 2 is much better. I have a mate who is having all sorts of problems with his stereo and the connectivity of his ipod. Very poor.

Just buy one mate you won't be disappointed.

I have no issues with my bluetooth handsfree I'm happy with it. I don't get any complaints on the other end either.

Also when I hook up my iphone via the 3.5mm jack and listen to internet radio the quality is no different to the stereo.
