    Default Ve boot badge

    hey guys
just wondering peoples thoughts on changing my boot badge on a ve commodore to the hsv badge...not to look like a wannabe but more to replace the huge holden badge at the back...and not too keen on a chev badge for obvious reasons hahah

    any thoughts?

Hopefully it's big enough to hide the holes!

apparently there are holes in some of the earlier models. Hex has them in his 07. Not sure of the cut off date though.

Mines an Oct 07 build and doesn't have holes.
What colour is your car? Maybe just paint your badge?

When i painted my badges black i asked at my local Holden dealer about the s2 rear badge being smaller and they said s1 and s2 rear badges are the same. I asked if he was sure and he said they have the same part number. I swear the s2 are smaller.

The rear holden deck lid badge is much smaller on the series 2 than a series 1. The diameter of the series 2 lion badge on the boot is approximately 75mm. Series 1 badge is 106mm (in diameter). I measured them today at work.. LOL..

As for them being the same part number, that's not true. Here are the following holden part numbers

Series 1 rear deck lid lion badge - Part No. 92202056 $13
Series 2 rear deck lid lion badge - Part No. 92222009 $7

    Cheers

He probably just said they were the same to get more money out of me. Might have to go back and ask again.

I was going to pick them up today however, they didn't have the series 2 ones in stock. So I will pick them up in the morning. I'll post some pics so people can see the difference....

Yeah? I never noticed that before but that's a good move by Holden. Would have been nice if they could have come up with a smaller badge for the grille as well.

BTW - no holes behind my boot badge either. I removed it and left it clean...

    Ok everyone,

I did the swap over of the badge tonight... Sorry for the crap photos taken with my iPhone... You'll notice that my rear boot has those stupid locator holes yet the badge didn't have little locator pins... go figure..

Anyway here are some photos... I think it makes the ass end look wider now... LOL You be the judge..
