Hi all. Recieved a letter from holden today saying that they are going to do free upgrades on the iq system. Others recieved the same? Im more than happy to get it done eventhough ive had no real issues with it.
Mine is in today getting the upgrade and 15k service.
I have had issues with the IQ system crashing once or twice.
Also problems with phone book on a HTC android phone.
Hopefully the software update will fix some issues.
Hey mate hopefully all issues get sorted. let us know how t goes. cheers.
Just got mine out of the mailbox, hmmmm
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME.... STILL WAITING LOL
Got one in mail today but I had already go my fixed...So far so good, nil issues yet, new features on IPOD and Bluetooth and new user screen for Phonebook..the letter i got in the mail also came with new pages to put my VE Series II Manual.. basically just replaces the old pages explaining how to use the IPOD and Bluetooth which in the new software updates gets upgraded...Hopefully now the IQ System is what is trouble free....
Yep got mine today... cant wait, scrolling mainly. plus had a few crashes. and issues with camera staying on too.
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
Sounds like the upgrade fixes some of the 'wish list' issues raised in other threads on IQ probs. My pa used to say 'if it aint broke dont fix it.' Obviously he had never heard of the word 'upgrade' before he died in 1976. Looking forward to getting the upgrade done next week.
Mine is resetting everytime I turn off the car. But only some items then the whole thing will, it's a bit all over the place. Phone is no longer paired after turning the car back on, and the USB starts again at song one. Needs the upgrade, takes about an hour to do at a dealer apparently.
How does Holden know you are the owners. Do you send one of the ownership cards to them that are in the service book?
I purchased my car from a dealer but never receive anything from Holden!

Anyone reckon the sound quality has changed slightly with the update?
I dunno if it's just me, but as I was re doing all my settings, I noticed I could turn the bass up more without hearing any popping. To be fair, I hadn't really had a massive play around to begin with, but I used to have my bass set to -4 while listening to my ipod. Now i've got it on +4 and I can turn the volume up quite a bit.
Cheers for the reply. I have just got off the phone with my dealer sales dept and they said because the car was a demo I would have to send in a change of ownership form. How's that for service! BTW, my name is the first in the logbooks.
They also asked me why I was pursuing this registration and I said that there is an apparent iQ system upgradis... he said, is that all, just drop-in and we can organise a time, you don't need to be on the ownership register for that... phuck me, and they wonder why some dealers get bagged!
My iQ is working fine so I'll wait and get it addressed at the same time when I get the dealer to replace my baggy crap front leather seats.

Thumpin,
Your dealer needs to wake up to themselves. My SSV was also a demo. They need to plug you into the greater wider Holden community otherwise you might miss out one day. All the best man
looking forward to getting mine done now. funnily enough the iq played up again today. i was going to wait for 15k service but wll be doing it earlier now i think.![]()
My HTC desire HD Android phone seems to play nicer now. Before the update, the phonebook would stop working after a while but since the update, it seems to always be available.
mine gets done next friday, ive had no problems with mine but least it seems like its a good upgrade anyway !
All I do is put it in neutral and rev it like BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM then select D for maximum respect, it just bushfires the shithouse everytime !
Mine is in as we speak, picking her up after work, shoudl be good, interested to see what they come up with next.
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
I'd like to see an update that overhauls the sound quality and makes it good :P
The series 1 system sounds heaps better....I'd assume they were using the same speakers, so it comes down to the headunit that makes the difference. I would hope they could work on the software and tweak it to make it sound passable at least. Even if they just rolled off the bass frequency a little earlier, that would do the trick to stop the speakers popping.
well...... put mine in this arvo after work, quick update i thought...
turns out it takes about 1.5 hours for it to upload into the sytem. so sat around for 2ish hours then he comes out and tells me it wont accept the update, so he was going to pull it out and do it manually.
another half an hour he comes out and tells me that didnt work either...
so they are going to order me an entire new IQ unit...spose its a good thing, as long as they put the sat nav and camera all back on it! just a pain in the ass to have to go back and book it in again and all that hassle!
and btw, the bloke said its the systems WITH sat nav on it that they've been having all the problems with
Had my first IQ problem post update just then. Reverse camera didn't turn on. Put it in park then back to get it working. Hope its not a regular occurance.
I had the IQ update done a few days ago and noticed the bluetooth is much faster (reading contacts etc from mobile phone) however i am not so certain if the sound quality has improved somewhat. If anything they may of filtered out extremely low frequencies to help combat the speaker popping issue however i may just be imagining it.
Just picked up mine from the dealer, and quite impressed with the sound atleast, it seems quite crisp and holds the volume better I feel,
Will be seeing if the bluetooth has improved soon enough lol
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME.... STILL WAITING LOL
Sat Nav any better?
