    Default Ve sv6 intake ?

    Hey guys.

I just want to get a nice cold air intake system for my VE SV6 2010

I want to get maximum KW possible.

    Any opinions?

People tell me that , OTR is the best way to go but the only one i found for the SV6 is a brand i have never heard of. ( OTR COLD AIR INTAKE ALL VE V6 ALLOYTEC & SV6 | eBay )

i have heard alot about the AIRHAMMER intake.

So those are my 2 intakes, i dont know whitch one to choose from.

    Someone help me ?

    thanks
    Hussy..

I installed on my sv6 2 weeks ago an airhammer intake and it is very good in regards to throttle response and torque.
The reason i went with this airhammer intake is because the filter goes at the bottom right side of the engine where less heat is produced than if you had an otr intake where the heat is much more because it is straight in front of engine.

love the airhammer, have got it in my SV6 and wouldnt change it for any others.
have a look at some more threads, on guy lost something around 6rwkw with using an otr rather than the airhammer on his SV6
    my vote.. Airhammer!!

    Sure do,

If you're fitting it to the SIDI, you need to make an adapter for the MAF (it's not hard), I'm not sure if VCM have made one as yet, as I spoke to them about it a few weeks back.

Can you buy just the tubing from inlet manifold to AFM..Do away with that ugly stock pipe work, and still keep standard air box (already got a K&N) that`s all

    Hey mate,

Do you know where the MAF should be located, i have a SS inductions growler kit on an 3.0 SIDI. Seems like i have have to drill a hole.

    Thanks

Hey guys correct me if im wrong but i thout the vcm just replaces the box and keeps the original piping. The original plumbing is there for sound deadening and stuff so if you want the extra 1-2kw even though its not much the airhammer or the k&n system is the way to go and they also have the loudest induction noise. i can post a photo of it all tomorrow if you want to see the picture of the airhammer setup if you havent already.

induction noise isn't necessarily a positive - in terms of performance at least. You can pick up clean pipe to fit up to even the standard air box if you like.

As far as I know, the SS Inductions kit for the SIDI engines comes with a hole for you to insert the MAF into, perhaps you bought the non SIDI kit...? I would compare the part numbers with the SS Inductions website.

Yeah as bigjim says mine was already drilled for the SIDI but....

    Ve sv6 intake ?-mafpic.jpg

MAF went thru small (10cent piece maybe larger) pre-cut hole and is secured by two self tappers but as sensor doesn't go all the way in the screws have 5-10 small washes on each so as not to bend the wings of sensor at the fix point to much.
