One thing that caught me out a couple of days ago........ i parked facing down a steep hill.... and i had to reverse paralell park My SV6

On the Sv6's Reverse is next to first (Further to the left) so i reversed into the spot went and did my thing....

I was in a bit of rush - Jumped back in the car started the car.... went to take off..... didnt think of pulling it out of gear cos i put my hand on the gearstick and it was still in gear.... so i let the clutch out... obviously started going backwards (fortunately no car was behind me)...... Realised i was in reverse and went to 1st and took off on my way....

I was thinking after it happened how silly it is that holden put reverse next to first on the SV6's because that could easily end badly..... if wanted to get going out of the carpark cos i was on a main road or something.. i could have ploughed the car behind me....

Again another situatuation that could be a hazard If you were new to a SV6 and were firm with your gear shifts you could slip into reverse instead of 1st when taking off.... if you didnt have sensors that could be dangerous as there would be no beep it would just plough backwards....fortunately i have sensors so it alerts me...

but i guess you'd rather stall it in 6th then plow into a car in 1st or reverse like the sv6 m6 :P

i would say reverse being next to first has more to do with where asin put it then where holden would like it
please adjust the settings on your sarcasim detector it will be needed

They have changed that now haven't they guys?
I think from late 08 or 09 onward the reverse has been on the right hand side next to 6th.

I had a 08 SV6 (reverse still next to 1st) and a couple of times at the lights I managed to put it in reverse. Fortunately I didn't floor it or the car behind me would have got more of a shock than they already did haha.
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.

I have a 2010 sv6 and reverse is next to first. If you want to go into first quickly and easy from neutral you push it up dont use the clutch until you meet restistance and when you do you will pop first nicr and easy .
