Bought my car in Ipswich but I live in Brisbane, can anyone recommend for / against holden dealers in brisbane for a service? I was going to go to Eagers in Newstead but there's 1 fairly negative review online.
I went by Mt Gravatt on the weekend, I was pretty shocked to see a brand new black thunder ute with no wheels up on besa blocks, except the blocks weren't in the middle and the car was now with its arse in the air and resting on the front discs.
motorama springwood have a good rep. from personal experiance stay away from zupps aspley, eagers newmarket, village petrie. others might have a diff opinion but like i said- personal experiance. thieving scum have limited intelligence, hence only 2 bricks.
im out of my mind at the moment...please leave a message
You will need to go back to the selling dealer for the first 3,000 km inspection (or another branch of same dealership) , or get a letter of referral to go to another franchise.
It is only an free inspection plus any warranty issues you want looked at. The selling dealer will usually change the oil (free of labour) for you if you ask for it (it is not specified at this inspection).
I have had good service from Eagers Windsor, all dealers are expensive but these guys are $110 + GST per hour which is about the least in Brisbane.
Thanks for the replies, I've decided to go to Eagers Windsor based on the only non-suspect recommendation on the web I could find (google reviews of holden dealers seem written by people who work there).
If I dont reply to this thread people can assume they do a good job :P
dont ever go to zupps!
We have booked our SSV in for its first service for this Monday with Motorama Woolloongabba even though we purchased it from Oldfield Capalaba. They didn't request a referral letter from Oldfield or ask why we were not going back to them. Perhaps it was because both dealers are authorised New-Holden dearlerships in Brisvegas. I dont know, I dont care. I booked the service online through the dealers web site. I was going to use the official Holden web site but they wanted the VIN number. WTF? Karen at Motorama emailed me back within 30 minutes and confirmed the booking. No questions, no inquisition, just a friendly thank you and do you want a loan car for the day. My parents-in-law bought a brand new 1973 HQ station wagon from Eagers at Windsor and they get it serviced there ever 12 months. They even know the service staff by first name. Sound like you are on a winner.
What have you heard from Zupps. The aspley one is where I bought my ute from and 3000km service. Otherwise powertorque for me
I had a steering rack replaced under warranty ( like getting blood from a stone with their warranty guy). they made a complete mess of it. one front tyre down to the canvas on the inside tread within a week because of bad wheel alignment which they reckon they sent out to get done. fluid return line from the rack leaked all over the place within a mth. I've had friends have similar probs with them as well. but what happened with me was several years ago though- VU ute days- they just left me with bad memories. never again. powertorque are great. I get my hi- po work done with them. I live in your area as well. don't bother with beechams at caboolture they"re just as bad to this day from what I've been told and seen. village at Redcliffe are ok for warranty work. the Petrie yard not so good. but Zupps aspley? no fxxxen way!!

Zupps at Mt. Gravatt have always been pretty good for me. SUre I've had to chase up the occasional issue, usually wnty stuff, but generally they've been good.
THey've looked after my VT and now my VE - even had the auto gbox replaced in the VE in the first year without too much prodding.
I do hear good things about Motorama at Springwood, and I do get most of my spares from them. Shame they are just so far out of my way for servicing etc.
Picked up my SSV Redline Ute new from Motorama @ The 'Gabba beginning of April, and just had it in for it's 3000KM service. No issues with this dealership at all - in all deallings pre and post sale they have been extremely helpful. I'll be sticking with them for future services.
Sorry guys, I wont use a dealer now. Hi-Torque for me. I used to use Motorama at the Gabba all the time though if a dealer is what you are wanting. My last service was half what Holden quoted.
all the way down the coast for a service? or do they have another shop in Bris?
Yep down the coast for service. Saved nearly $200 on last service. I think it's worth it and the guys there are great. Highly recommend
And I wouldnt exactly say it's that hard to get to the coast these days. Depends where you live I guess. I live southside so it's only like 40 mins to get there. If you live northside I'd recommend going to Powertorque for your servicing.
