Default Differences between the Omega models and sv6 models.

    Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a Series II VE Ute next year. I cannot decide between the Omega and the sv6 models? What are the differences between them?

Does the Omega have bluetooth & sat nav?

From memory, Both have Bluetooth, neither have sat-nav as standard but I think it can be optioned on to both(not 100% sure on the omega thou). The omega has steel wheels as standard while the sv6 has 18's. The sv6 also has 'sportier' seats(bigger side bolsters), 3.6L motor over the omega 3.0L, might be a few other bits and pieces but that is all I can remember. There is also the 'Thunder' sv6 ute which for i think it is about 2k you get sat-nav, 19" wheels and leather bolster seats. But who knows how long that will stick around for, might not still be an option when you are ready to buy

Nope not that lazy, as I just stated the website hasn't been working for me over the last couple of days which is why I resorted here to ask...

Do not buy a base model if your funds allow for another option, you will regret it, and in the end it will only cost you more dollars when you want those options that are standard with the Sport versions of the VE series.

And yes that Holden site is one of the worst performing sites i visit, lucky the cars go better than it does.

Cheers mate, and good luck with the buy.

Unlike what others have intimated, I think a forum is a Good place to ask about the differences, because Holden will only Ever tell you marketing sc#ite. And they probably all have beemers..

If you are buying it with your own money (yes, even salary sacrifice) then you will be much better off spending a little more on the sv6. They depreciate far slower than the omega, as they are everywhere and the market is full.

Having said that, I'm not real happy with the one I've got!!

Thanks heaps for that dude. Yes the site is pretty horrible. It took me ages to get to the ute page then when I go to pick the sv6 or omega, it times out.
