SO i searched and can't find anyone else with the same problem. Its happened twice now, both after about 5 minutes of driving after starting the car from 'cold'. Both times I was only doing about 40ks but my brakes wouldn't work.
The first time i was on the driveway of a shopping centre and attempted to slow down for the speedbump, put my foot on the brake and it wouldn't budge, i ended up having all my body weight pushing down and it wouldn't move, luckily it was only a speed bump and not a kid or something.
Second time was yesterday, driving through roadworks and saw a pothole that i couldn't avoid so again went to brake and couldn't move the pedal. I'm about to call holden now and ask wtf is going on.
Both times the brakes started working again, but not before i had to use the handbrake to slow down when i got near traffic.
Am i within my rights to have them pick the car up with a tow truck and supply me with a courtesy car so that i can get to work tomorrow?
you are deffinatly within your rights to demand they pick up your car on a tow but maybee not a coutosy car but i would kick up a fuss for one
please adjust the settings on your sarcasim detector it will be needed
Just curious, Is the pedal rock hard? Have you tried releasing the pedal and re applying?
The next time when the pedal does work, does it feel normal again?

Just speculation but possibly the brake booster has a hole in it (or the hose that controls the vac). As above though - get it towed to your friendly dealer for immediate rectification. As for a courtesy car - some dealers do, others don't.
