Default SS Range when low fuel light appears.

Curiosity question guys, what sort of range could someone expect in a SS driven in a normal manner after the low fuel light engages.

Not looking to run mine down that far but would be interesting to know roughly if it ever does happen one day.

    Cheers all.

60ish km's. it gives you another warning after low fuel 'very low fuel' which usually is a good indictaion you really should be heading towards a servo. but you can get about 10 km's out of that i think.

I just tested this in my sv6 the other night.

Ran it down to low fuel, then very low fuel. Gauge was on empty. Engineering mode said 0L. Filled my car up but could only fit in 68.4L :P so there was still enough to get me around for future reference

Doesn't get you very far. Once first light comes on there isn't much time between that and the very low light

Only saw the fuel warning for the second time last saturday after the cruise - came on about 500m before the servo - so I'm no help with range!

My "Low Fuel" comes on contantly with about 10lt left in the tank which gives me another 75-100km. Funny thing is when I fill up it takes 70-73lt but I have never had the "Very Low Fuel" displayed. I don't like walking so never pushed it to find out if it works or not................

What's the most people have ever pumped into the VE?

I pumped a little over 71L in it only once ever.... and I was seriously thinking holy crap I'm not going to make it.
Drove past Goulburn without filling (because Shell that now owns the petrol station near the Macca's doesnt take fuel vouchers- which I think is a rort because there's no signs that tell people they dont!), so on purpose I'll never stop there again unless I want macca's or subway. Anyway, drove past there and low fuel light came on as soon as I hit federal hwy to canberra. Driving like miss daisy and I made it to North Canberra... but I was willing the car gods to get me there. Never again.

Btw, dont fill at Shell Macca's.... drive in a little further to Goulburn and there's another Shell where the locals fill up like 2km down the road (its cheaper fuel even before the discount voucher- which they accept as well!).
Only chumps fill at Big Merino Shell.

I never let my fuel go below a quater of a tank,I dont want the fuel pump to suck up any foreign objects that could be in the fuel that may have come to rest on the bottom of my tank.

Most of them come on with 8 - 10L left in the tank. From there it depends how you are driving - normally 40-70km is not unreasonable unless you are hammering it.

I've never seen the very low fuel light but had it down to 1lt on engineering mode and most I pumped in was a bit over 73lt that was to the brim

I put 71L of 98 octane in only the other week. Imagine my anger as the dollar counter was rapidly counting upward, as the fuel counter moved oh so very slowly.

love the "dont wanna ge it to low to suck up sludge and crap"
i took my tank out after 300k wiped it with a white clean rag and omg not one spec of dirt or slidge it was cleaner than the nozzle ya use to put the petty in with
theres no such thing as dirty tank or sludge if ya run good clean fuel i use 98 only for last 10 yrs
