Default Squeaking noise at front of car

hey guys, for the past week or so ive noticed a squeaking noise from the front of my car (ve alloytech sv6). when i popped the bonnet open and listened around it was coming from the belts or whatever in the front. the noise comes and goes and the car drives as normal. what can it be?

    cheers

If you pour some water on your belts and it stops making the noise it means one of them are loose. If so, go to Holden and get them to sort it out under warranty.

Actually now you mention it...mine squeeked the other day.

Wongy in that case I would say that the belt was slipping because it was loose or the alternator was ceased therefore the alternator wasn't charging and the alternator light resulted. You should take a look.

With the car off you can always reach down to where the belts are they will be pretty loose if they're slipping and probably look a bit screwed.

The tensioner cant be adjusted on the SV6, if anything it would be a worn belt...

Start it up and when you hear the noise spray abit of inox or wd40 on the ribbed side of the belt n if it stops the noise get a new belt...

a small child or neighbours barking dog perhaps?
    maybe an illegal immigrant?
just get a stick and poke around in there. if it responds you know it probably shouldnt be there.
