    Default What should I do??

Basically guys ive currently got a series 1 2003 vy calais v6 with just under 170k on the clock.

Now ive been offered a 2008 WM Statesman which has the 6L v8 in her and only 23,000kms on the clock for 25 grand.

Honestly ive never really thought about grabbing a VE as I thought the interior was just lacking something cruel over the vy/vz range.

It is white and im not the greatest fan of white, but some good tint and some black rims would set it off nicely.

Question is wjat do you fine people think I should do?? 25k isnt a issue neither is insurance, im just in 2 frames of mind. Oh and ive got untill mid august to decide.

    Help me

I actually prefer the layout of the interior of the VEs to the VY/Z series by a hell of a lot (owned a VY previously and didn't like the interior really at all) - so that one will be difficult for me to see as a trade off! For me, the decision would be beyond easy... but the best thing I can suggest is to take it for a drive and see if it fits you. The statesmans are a very comfy cruiser and with the 6L, it has plenty of overtaking-torque and is a wonderfully lazy thing to drive on the highway, though is still stable enough to have a bit of fun in - particularly with a couple of suspension tweaks (mainly bushes for more accurate response and feedback - most wouldn't want a hard-riding stato!)

And like SYCO said, a well turned out white car can look amazing!

My uncle had the v8 caprice. And ive driven it a couple of times, i rather the wm interior then the ve. There actually pretty good the statesman/caprice interor. The v8 power is excellent. In your everyday driving you dont even hear a single engine roar or noise to bug you , but when you put your foot down you feel the Gforce aswell as hear the beautiful pure muscle of a v8.
The boot is massave so thats good to , i always love a big boot , lots of room for passengers in the back. Also its not toooooooo long that anoys you , it is long but its not a stupid long .
Around a corner when you floor it , it sticks is ass out nicely.
Overall. Its a beautiful car. GET IT .
look forward to pictures. Oh and white wise , i have white but my dad just bought a white porsche brand new and got the black porsche rims and black windows, black interor and it looks pretty good. Aniwaz mate good luck

Yep, a WM is a big step up from a VE internally, so the difference to your VY won't be in favour of the VY.

The VE/WM models are a huge step forward in terms of safety, strength, braking, handling and in a LWB, probably comfort. I'd go for the WM.

ARE YOU SERIOUS ? a bmw? bmw's are rubbish IMO ive owned a 04 bmw 325i with the v6 engine. And my uncle had the Caprice v8 6.0L and a 3 series bmw compared to a statesmen is crap. Basically with a secound hand bmw for 25Grand ur only paying for the badge.
There slow as shit, the 4 cyclinders the 6 is okay but slow compared 2 my sv6. It nosey when you floor it, it gives a bad noise, and you cannot really modify the engine to the way you like, put an exhaust.

With the Satesmen, ITS A V8, so its has the power, the V8 name , you can modify it easily, they LOOK better, they sound better, they are better.

But if your talking about the new 3 series bmw's since your saying trade in, well the new ones do look good, they do drive better ( mate has one ) and they do have more power but thats the 6 cyclinder, once again the 4 cyclinders are crap and a waste of money.

Only positive about a BMW is that you dont loose money once u want to sell it again.

Sorry guys, didnt meant to write so much and "SSV Redline" please dont take it the wrong way mate but ive just had bad experiences with BMW and rather others dont do the same.

    He said a 3 series not a m3, If i had the $ i still would get a bmw.
Im more interested in a nice cruising car not a sports car.

but in saying that bmw, merc etc look awesome but im not really that much of a fan as everbody knows we get ripped off here for the cost of one and your only paying for the badge

Go for it sounds good .I drive a calais v v8 and love the shove in the back you get putting ya foot down .Those statesman v8 are quick wheels mag test was 0 to 100 in 5.7 sec and 13.9 to 400m not bad for stock statesman hey. Also i think the car maybe in better nick not thrashed or driven as hard being a statesman.
