    Default Depressed with mods

Hi all feeling sorry and sick with the mods on my ve ss series 2 . This is the second cam package I've done and the mods are as follows, Full di fillipo s/s zorst 1 3/4 extractors, 2 1/2 inch with 100 cell cats,25% underpulley, shaved heads, double row springs, lifters, pushrods,no afm,cam 226/232, 2700 hi stall, 3.70 diff, orrsomm otr, very streetable with tuff lumpy idle. All this in an automatic and it was mafless tuned on mainline dyno to give 330 rwkw, was expecting 340-350, tuner tried to calm me down saying it's the high stall that gives this low reading on the dyno, mmmm I'm not sure, can anyone please tell me if this is ok or if I've been dudded any comment would be greatly appreciated on what to expect with these mods, please be carefull with your comments lol as I'm getting to go for a drive at the westgate bridge.

man... 10kw is 2 clicks of the strap on the dyno, or the intake air temp probe sitting a few inches closer/further from the rad or headers....

if you want to see how much power it *really* has, take it for a run down the black stuff and see what mph you pull - weigh your car, and google some calculators to work out power

as above, no dyno is 100% accurate to read outright horsepower. i would only ever use a dyno to brag about HP numbers if i did a before and after run to find out the actual increase. thats why i ran mine on the dyno before i started any work on my VR. as VN_Luke said, take it to the 1/4 n then do some maths.

As said, power figured are just brag numbers. If you want a real idea of performance why don't you take it to the track*?

This is why i won't put mine on a dyno. The only way you will ever know how well it goes has been mentioned a couple of times already. Get yourself to the strip.

Mate dont stress bout the dyno figures, its at the track where it counts and as long as your happy with how the car drives. I run a 231/239 cam with a 2800stall convertor & i made 320rwkw, yes the stall convertor does suck abit out the power figure but by not having one your car will drive like shit so its a good compremise.

Look at the bright side, imagine how you'd feel if you really had a problem.

Pffftt... I wouldn't fret about it.

10rwkw is a casting/cylinder bore up by 10thousands extra in each cylinder as compared to exactly the same engine with the same mods.

Just read the OP again, if it's series 2, the car barely would have been 'run in' would it?? Could this be a reason for the figures being a bit low??

that figure is amazing try spending the same amount of dollars with the same mods as you and only get 280rwkw (ls1)

no such thing as 'run in' anymore figure is a figure although once the lifters pump up it might free up 5-10 more

mainline dynos are known for reading low, put it on a dyno dynamics one in shootout mode and u will have your 350rwkw if not more.

but as everyone else said its only a number that could be dodgy anyway if the dyno operator was so inclined. get it on the blacktop dyno!
