    Default VE SV6 help

Hi guys i poke around this forum a little bit and have picked up some great tips for modifying my commy, but now i have run out of ideas.

so far i have done CAI, extractors, cats, catback, and a tune, lowered it put some 20's on, window tint, system, but now i am stuck

i have been looking into getting some sway bars for it but have heard varying oppinions on how good these are. So far i have looked at the adjustable ones (as they are only $38 mre than the non adjustable) but someone from wholesale suspension said that the fronts in the ve's are pretty much useless as they move around to much??

so any tips on the swaybars or any other mods would be much appreciated

Sounds good man. Stuck it on a dyno since the mods and tune? Who did the tune? Wouldn't mind hearing how it sounds. I reckon sway bars would be a good thing to do...not to expensive either.

hey mate, another thing you could do is an after market shift kit (if its manual) atm I'm seeing if the aeroflow billet shifters fit the ve sv6 manuals.

yeah it manual, will look into it ... getting the tune done next week will let you know how it turns out...
the problem i am having with the tune is that as it is the sidi model i have a lot of people telling me the NO ONE can tune them ... but castle hill exhaust assure me that they can, so fingers crossed on that
also i will post up a dyno sheet from it when i get around to it

you can get a ripshifter, they should fit, but are around $500, billet have one too, not sure if it fits, around $700. I've sent a few emails trying to ascetain whether the aeroflow billet shifter will fit, it's a copy of the billet shifter but seems to be decent, guy on the ls1 forums is very happy with it in his VE SS. I'll let you know if they will fit. You can buy them on ebay, just search "ve shifter" They are $229. I'll let ya know if I can find it cheaper.

underdrive pulley, probably 5-10rwkw. More in a manual and most of the power is made after 3-4k rpm. They are like $290. Installation is probably around $100?? Anyone here done it? We should organise a group buy?

And I'll let ya know astro!

ssv tail lights? a must in my opinion, if you drive a sedan that is

slimline plates, bee sting aerial, hsv steering wheel are also options

also, for power, as mentioned underdrive pulley system, mace manifold insulators, CPR6 manifold...

    good luck with it all

He said he has the SIDI engine, so the CPR6 Manifold won't work.

The MACE Manifold Insulators are meant to fit, but you'll have bugger all clearance between the inlet manifold and the bonnet when it's shut.

I can't believe no one has suggested this yet, why not get some slotted brakes and decent pads?

I haven't seen results on a SV6 but an FG xr6 gained 9rwkw and there's a VZ wagon that pulled similiar numbers.

On the SIDI models the spacers without the engine cover. We've also revised the thickness for the spacers on these to be 6mm, as some people were concerned about the clearance between the firewall and plenum.
