Default WM Seat Memory not working

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help.....

The memory recall on my WM Caprice drivers seat isn't working. When I use the two keys, all specific setting for each key (radio, rear mirrors, climate control) change, but the seat doesn't move.

I can move the seat and apparently store the position via the buttons (it makes all the right noises). But when I press the relevant button (1, 2 or 3) nothing happens, the seat doesn't move (but the mirrors do).

The car is out of warranty now. So taking it to the dealer is a last resort.

Does anyone have any ideas? Can I reset the system somehow?

    thanks
    Russell

try disconnecting the negative lead on the battery and pulling the BCM fuse for 15mins. Replace the BCM fuse and reconnect battery lead.

It is in the side sick panel - passenger side

There is a little slide panel and its in there titled "BCM Logic"

I think rjp was wanting to know Where the BCM fuse is located.

Yep, I know it is, just not where it is...

Anyway, found it. Currently have the battery disconnected. We'll see how we go.

HEXEM - re the DVD player sound, should I now need to unplug the HVAC to get the sound working?

    cheers

Umm, that was in your other thread wasn't it?

From memory you were wanting to reset the system.. When you reconnected the battery you can unplug the HVAC, leave disconnected for 15 to 30mins (should be enough time to reset everything) then plug back in. While the panels are off just check to see if the AUX leads for the DVD are plugged in and that none have come out or just about to come out.

Yeh, it was the other thread. I was just checking if disconnecting the battery would help with both problems.

I've just re inserted the BCM fuse and re connected the battery. Seat memory now works as it should. Thanks for the help.

    Now for the DVD player.....
