    Default VF Release date?

this may be a cardinal sin to post in the VE section, but does anyone know when the VF is going to be released?

i just know it would burn me if i upgraded my car to a series 2 and then the VF came out 6 months later...

yeh, so like a year and a half pretty much, hmmmmm decisions!

it amazes me how long they are keeping the VE around as the max most other models were around was 5 years.....the series 2 VE got released after 5 years of the VE being around already

so say the VF comes out close to 2014 then the VE has been around for 8 years...2006-2014......

the Series 2 only just got released not long ago which makes me think theyll keep them in production for a little while longer??

agreed! i think there's also alot of money to be made by holden with the "supposed" turbo 6's that will be introduced with the VF's to challenge the xr6t, that's if there's any truth to the rumours

the ve's were in production for so long because yes they were successfull and also the global financial crises hit so gm couldnt really afford to start making a new model at the time so they kept the ve.

lol the 3.0TT will only produce 220kw(apparently) which will come no where near the xr6T's

yeah tune exhaust and a few other goodies and it will munch the xr6t

but stock against stock the xr6t will be all over the 3.0TT. but imagine how much power they will be making stock after a few years of being in production

The VE has been around for years, but the current version has had several major upgrades each model year since it was first released.
IMO the old practice of changing the shape of the headlights and changing the name to V-whatever everytime you've got an upgrade to release is pointless and a waste of money.

waste of money...? would holden get the same sale figures if they kept the same shape and names throughout the ve's production??

yeah they would still sell but it would get boring. so they need to make changes and spice it up abit to keep people interested.

I heard its gonna be a dual stage turbo setup, so presumably one turbo will give you top end, and a smaller turbo for low down power. If its got good enough torque characteristics It could potentially match or beat a single turbo XR6 with a higher peak power figure. This has been in the pipeline for years tho, so who knows if we will ever find out

3.0lTT sounds alright, but I'd personally rather see a 3.6lTT like the one they were walking about awhile ago, 323kw and uses less fuel than a l98. sigh

I don't think Holden is worried about the XR6T too much, I think the ecoboost has them more worried.

Yeah i was just pointing out that lower peak power doesn't necessarily mean slower in real terms if your comparing two completely different engines with different forced induction setups

I am sorta angry actually to be honest because i was certain of buying the V8 and supercharging it but Twin Turbo with alittle of work would actually be nice, i guess i have to wait for them to actually come out.
And also i was hoping the HSV had the 7.0L engine they had put into the W427

hahahaha then again, if we beat ford in our V8s then im happy lol

Oh and also im sorta disapointed in holden making a V6 TURBO, copying FORD but then again its TWIN so thats good, but would have been happier if it was a V6 SUPERCHARGED as it would be our OWN holden idea, Unlike for stealing the V6TURBO idea from nissan.

AND holden was sorta known for having the bigger L in numbers ( 6.2 ) now they dropped down to 5.5? Like i dono im not gona say anything till im behind the wheel, also a nice stock v8 supercharged would be nice as ford brang out there supercharged 335kw v8

but when i think of it, ford needs a supercharger on there V8 to keep up to our N/A V8

    #### DO I LOVE HOLDEN

Mate PERSONALL, what i have learnt was NEVER buy a brand new car from holden. My VE 07 old man had bought it for 38,500 and sold it for 26,000 with 110,000ks. My uncle on his WM CAPRISE 6.0L he had bought for 64,000 and he sold it for 45,000 wit 70,000Ks on it. And my current VE SV6, brand new purchased for 34,000 and done 45,000ks and dealer offered me a trade in for a new thunder ute for 28,000.

What im trying to say is Buying a brand new car unless you own it for a few year(holden) u will loose money, PERSONALLY i would sell the OMEGA buy a secound hand with low ks ve ss/ssv for max 30 grand then 2015 buy a secound hand VF.

THEN AGAIN THAT IS ONLY MY OPINION

The "hearsay of 2013" is probably pushing it. The VE is tired now, they have wrung that billion for all it's worth.

Once all the IQ crap hits the fan, all Holden will be able to do to save face is bring out the next episode..
