    Default SIDI or NOT?

    Hey guys

    Just wondering how can you tell if it a SIDI or NOT?

    Like does it right on the engine bay somewere?

    all ve's v6 after september 2009 are SIDI as far as I know....and yes...badges on guards and bootlid

    Yeah but i was just cleaning my engine bay and a mate with a SIDI was like wtf u have the same engine bay as me :S so i started getting sus. and started googeling the different engine bays on the VEs and my one saying its the SIDI one I dont know what month i bought mine, LATE 09 tho.

    yours is the direct injection one then. Doesn't it have any badges???? Thats pretty odd...

    Series 1 sidi were 3.0lt so if all else fails it should at least say that on the engine. Series 2 sidi is 3.6 though so there goes that 'solution'

    Nope NO badges. I REALLY HOPE ITS JUST A STUPID COVER. i dont want the SIDI :P

    So does it write it anywere in the engine bay?

    Nah there were plenty of 3.6l Series 1 engines.

    Pretty sure ur talking about the OMEGA, as the SV6 dont have 3.0L

    Can you look in the engine bay on the metal plate on the right hand side? it should say LY7 somewhere for it to be an alloytec 3.6l 195kw engine

    yeah sorry, I meant the 3.6l SIDI engine was released at the same time as the 3.0l SIDI and both were sold as Series 1 commodores before they released the series 2.

    Yeah its only extractors anyway :P i just heard its harder to find parts for the SIDI thats why

    I had a 2009 Commo SV6 ute and it had the big black engine cover but it certainly wasn't SIDI. It was an auto and had the 5 speed auto. Didn't the SIDI's launch using the 6L50 auto box too??
