Any 1 actually spent some money on a decent system on there commo. im looking at beefing mine up a lot soon and just wanted to kno what every1 else has done or is thinking of doing
Hey buddy well I dont really have one buy i know which one i will be getting, in 2 month, i need to save up. I WILL BE GETTING ALPINE TYPE X - this set 2X ALPINE SWX-1243D, MRP-M2000, PDX-F6, 2X SPX17PRO | eBay
But alot of my mates think spending that much money on a sound system is stupid, so MOST of them went for ALPINE TYPE R basically there really good aswell, 2 12inch subs in your boot, even ONE will be good but yeah. alltogether with amps and everything ,installing for type r your looking around 2grand without changing headunit. If ur not happy with the stock head unit performance then you could always purchase this,
ALPINE PXE-H650 IMPRINT Head Unit - VE VY VZ BA BF FG | eBay - it acts like an aftermarket headunit but you dont have to literally purcahse one becaue they look uguly..
GOOD LUCK MATE.
i have allready got alpine type r fronts rears tweets n a sub i have a boot pic on my profile not to bad for a home job. im looking at getting another swr1222d 12" sub and an alpine pdx m12 to pump those pair along nicely... im just mainly looking into how people have set them up pics or anything of boot setup

hussy have you listened to the type X ... i had them in my old VY and i ripped them out and put type R's in ... way better mid response ... anyway just a suggestion
As for my ve it is going tomorrow to get the system out in ...
it will be the stock head unit with an audioson BIT 1 amped rca converter (this is completely tunable and therefor negates the need for high loss LOC's
2 x sets of Focal 165KRX2 6.5" splits
2 x Rockford Fosgate T1 subs
1 x Rockford Fosgate Power series 4 channel Amp
1 x Rockford Fosgate Power series monoblock
1 x 2 farad Rockford Fosgate capacitor
1 x Yellow top battery
1 alarm upgrade
dynamat
custom box
custom boot install
yeah cant wait to get it back ... its gonna take em 4 days
So you wana run both type R off the M12?
And i hope you didnt build the box yourself did you ? BOX MAKES A HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE difference
yeah i had the R's bought the X's then like 2 weeks latter ripped em out and put the R's back in
Hmm interesting, I dunno if its just me but a lot of people have talked focal up but have yet to hear them, if you dont mind much did the 6.5" spilts set you back? In time I'm going to upgrade the sound of my car but I'm only after something that sounds good in house without being heard from a 1km awayso I'm not after anything that's going to be earth shattering. Suggestions? thought about the type R's front and back with a 12 sub to carry the sound..
the box with the sub was a pre fab box i mad sides on it to mount the amps beside it. next is a custom install will be small sub boxes about .8 cuft sealed. as for the m12 the guys at northfield told me it will work n pump hard... unless they r just trying to sell me the expensive amp that wont cut it??? any thoughts on running 2 swr122d on a m12 amp

those splits cost me 999 but they do have a set for 799 that were also pretty good ... but the difference was worth the extra 200 ... if you dont want something that will be earth shatteringly loud AND clear than the Alpine R types are an excellent speaker and cost around about 350 (i think) like i mentioned i did have these previously and they were good ... but i also LIKE earth shatteringly loud so yeah hence the extra money ... but if you just want Clear and loud then R types are perfect ... you could go front splits and rear co axiels (the tweeter is on the speaker) or any car audio shop can put splits front and rear ... but if you dont want a 'crazy' system then i would go with R types front and rear a 12" sub R type again go well but its you that pays for them and maybe a 4 channel and a monoblock ... its not to expensive and will still sound very good
as for focal i had never heard them before wither ... but a mate of mine got some put in a car and they sounded supreme ... so as i was loking into a system for my car i went and tested them ... and walked out a lot poorer
Oh ok cool i figure if I have about $1500 to play with I would end up with something decent. My other question is your rca converter is that a better option to the loc? I mean don't know too much about them and as for price wise the compassion between the 2? I'd have to have this system work for the aux I use it heavily for my music.
yes the loc takes your speaker and gives you Right and left RCA out so you tend to loose either fader or balance control ... the 'bit 1' takes all your speakers and gives you 5 sets of pre outs plus a signal wire (to switch your amps on) plus also gives you an AUX in. but it is also like 900 ... i think soundstream do the same kind of thing (not tunable though) for about 300 ... if you live in wetern sydney i can recomend a few places for you to look at
alpine also do one thats about 450 (i think) and it is better than soundstream
Mate that amp is actually PERFERCT for them. Yes it is expensive. Go M1000 vpower amp, SAME Thing really , just the pdx allow you to run speakers off them but the vpower only letyou run SUBS ONLY . and seeing how your only gona use the amp for subs then go for m1000. CHEAPER.

Yeah sweet. If there isnt big difference in price, just stick to the M12 but if there is then go m1000
$700 for the m1000 n $1099 for the m12 getting a another swr1222d 5m of 4gauge to re wire everything some 16 guage, more fuses another battery... should be able to swing a couple of hundred off the total

$400 difference ay. Personally i would go m1000 but i guess its all upto you. Like you said, do your reasearch. Btw just an advice, for alpine the more POWER you give it(amp) the better they will be.
i agree ...
this is the rough design of what my boot will look like just gotta work on a design for a .8 cuft box on the 45degree angle in the corners... mps will be staggered and have perspects put over them to still make the boot usable
