Hi All,
I have just noticed tonight that my drivers side rear light has started fogging up. Is that it now, new lights?!
What causes it?

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Fogging up is usually caused by moisture inside the housing. Is the tail light cracked or anything?
There was a thread or 2 about this quite a while ago, It was considered a problem a several of the early VE's, I had it on my SV6 ute at random times.
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME.... STILL WAITING LOL
Warranty job mate, keep going back till they fix it.
If you still have warranty that is.
I don't know how old your car is.
Cheers.
Mike
Checked and no visible cracks etc ...
2007, about 33,000ks . I got it privately, the car had warranty to 2013 but when I called holden they told me.
1. Car hadn't been serviced by them (It has been serviced on time etc but by a local mechanic I know)
2. Warranty is not transferable(!!)
I know the guy I purchased it from and he never bothered taking it to the main stealers *ahem dealers* as they threw extended warranty in for free. But he figured they would make money back with Holden servicing!
probably wouldn't have been covered by extended warranty - only the original manufacturer's warranty - which is transferrable - but only lasts 3 years.
I'd say there's an issue with the seal around the lens cover.
Hey mate, my back left light on my ute was fogging up, i couldnt see any cracks or anything, got it replaced under warrenty, hasnt done it since
This seems to be a problem with VE's which have undamaged tail-lamps, yet accumulate moisture inside. My son's Omega has the same problem and it seems to be that the seal is defective.
Wouldn't the simplest solution for someone whose warranty has expired, to be just remove the tail-lamp and blow it out with compressed air, then run a small bead of silicon sealant around the join between the lens and housing? Seems pretty obvious to me.
Might give that a try mate.
I have the same problem with SSV light on my sv6
It's only right hand side and it fogs up (not much though)
Same area as you lights in the picture
I'll remove it and check the seal on it.. Can't think of anything else as there are no visible cracks or anything like that ...
mine does the same on SV6
