Hi,
I have a set of VE Calais tail lights that have dust in behind the clear lense/cover. I have taken the lights off the car and tried washing them down with water inside without much luck.
Can anyone advise if it is possible to remove the clear cover/lense on the tailights so I can clean them with a rag?
Cheers,
Firstly, there shouldn't be dust in there if the seal is good, so I'd be checking that out. Do you get condensation build up in them?
make sure what you're seeing is actually dust and not fine scratches on the plastic also.
If it is dust, your best option is probably wrapping a microfibre cloth around a piece of dowel or similar and trying to reach it from the harness hole.
Trying to think, but I don't think I've come across a light housing that was actually dirty inside that didn't have an underlying issue (ie, crack, bad seal, etc.)
The tail lights have been off the car for sometime and have gathered dust as they have been exposed outside. The dust has made its way through the harness holes into the corners of the lenses.
Can anyone confirm if the lenses can be removed?
I would say you'd have to break the seal/bonding glue, have you tried compasses air?

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
you could even try compressed air if the above doesn't work?
