    Default New to VE modifications

    Hey

Im new to this site to get opinions / feedback on some modifications Id like to do to a 2007 VE SSV I have recently bought from a mate.

However I'd like to get a couple of minor issues with the car sorted before I modify anything.

DVD screen (roof mounted) doesnt sit in right position and seems floppy. Holden tells me only full exchange is available at about $1000 but Ive read that there is a plastic cover over the hinges which cracks .. Does anyone know / have experience with fixing / this problem.

Car is a manual (stock standard) has a bit of a note from the exhaust but feels a bit anaemic under about 3000 rpm. Sure it has power but my VU SS Ute (with exhaust - ceramic pacemaker headers 1 3/4 - 2.5 Mandrell bent exhaust cross over and high flow cats) felt as good down low (it was an auto though).

Other than that car is extremely good condition, tight one owner with 38K and the only things I can pick (and these might be normal) are slight lifter noise on cold start, notchy when selecting gears cold and a very slight shudder from clutch pedal when starting in 1st under load

I want the car to be remain streetable and I am happy to spend money in the right areas so was looking at the following mods:

Rip Shifter to improve shifting (maybe a clutch if the slight vibration is not normal)

Full exhaust with headers, high flow cats etc ( I want acceleration and mid range improvements but still want to drive comfortable on trips)

Brake fluid / Gear box / Diff / Engine oil suggestions for improved performance / wear

    Maf or Maffless Tune (suggestions)

Port / Cleaning work to heads / manifold (Ive heard that this wont do much to an LS2) unless you are splitting hairs

    Cam / Valve Springs

Suspension (being honest want it to be lower and happy with a bit stiffer but as Im now old ... lol ... Ive learnt that the stiffest doesnt always handle the best ...... suspension that is ..

Brake upgrade .. any advice from change of standard size rotors / pads through to replacement / upgrade kits including calipers etc.
Apart from that I may change wheels cosmetics but basically want it to go hard and be heard .. oh yeah induction and intakes too.

Anyone able in giving me some advice ... that would be great

Have a look in the show off your ride section and check out peoples comments on their own cars, there are a lot of different ways and manufacturers you can
go with all the components of your car, if your looking at making a whole package like what you have listed I would allow about $15k for a nice streetable car.
On the other hand go asking at some workshops around your area, enhanced automotive are sponsors on here from south australia.

    Thanks for that ..

The actual budget isnt the issue its just about spending the money on the right parts and people

Im really interested in hearing from people who have had good (or bad .. we all learn from that) experience with tuners etc and what parts / mods have brought the biggest smile to their face.

Ive only had the car a coupe of weeks and it is a nice ride ... but I want it to give me a chubby each time I drive / start it

kpm motorsport are in your neck of the woods. give them a buzz. their exhausts are the ducks nuts. they are well known amongst us VE guys, are well respected and are a one stop shop for all the mods your after... and should give you one mongrel of a chubby too!

Suffering the same problem with my 06 VE Calais in terms of the DVD Mount not sitting right. Needs to be pushed back a bit or something, have you had any luck?
