Hey Guys,
Just wondering if there's any point investing in a front strut/tower brace for my VE when it arrives? It's just a daily drive car, no track stuff, but I have read they do make a pretty good change in terms of steering feel etc.
What do you blokes reckon? Leave it or get one?
If it's just the strut brace, it alone won't do much. But in combo with a complete suspension package throughout the vehicle it could add a certain handling value.
Cheers mate.
Mike
Firstly what kind of ve are you getting, if it's a base model then suspension will need to be done as well as sway bars etc but if its a sporty model they already have half decent suspension so front and rear sway bar and strut brace are the best and cheapest handling mod to do, that's all i've done on my wagon and it handles excellent.
TELLING IT HOW IT IS SINCE 1982
Hey Gambel,
It's an SSV sedan.
There certainly is a benefit in having a strut brace in a VE - but it should definitely be the last suspension mod you do - kind of like a last line of defence. I honestly doubt you'd be able to feel the difference before and after on a VE on its own. Spend the bickies on good sway bars, springs, shocks, urethane and then a strut brace if you're taking it to the track.
Sweet, thanks guys.
