    Default HID's

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd start by saying hi. I am picking up my new SV6 Series 2 tomorrow so can't wait for that......very excited. A bit of a downgrade considering I was driving a VZ SS 6.0ltr about 2 years ago.

Anyway, has anybody used these HID kits from ebay? They are designed just for the VE....looks pretty easy.

give these a go. have hid in 2 of my cars. both bought from max vision and there great. also got the 5 led T10 for my parkers. this guy is cheaper and has a lot of work done here in melbourne. and ships all over australia. if you were in melbourne he installs the hid for $30. so he is cheaper than that ebay. and gives you even HID reverse lights. which i have ordered. not ilegal as to the police there only on for a few seconds and u dont exactly drive down the main road in reverse. i have a dark drive and this will give me better vision to see. but its up to you. am also booked to get my dash lights done via asr audio.

do a search for max vision australia

I just checked out this ebay ad and realy like the idea that there no drilling into the exisiting dust caps involved. Also having to find a place to fit the balist, its all intergrated into the cap which is no bigger that the normal cap... All the drilling and wires hanging everywhere is the only thing that has swayed me from buying other styles of HIDs for my SSV.

I have sent the guy a message to confirm that they will deffinately fit the SSV projector lense. I would prefer a 5000k globe so they don't have that bluish tinge...

Good find and postage is free...

HEXEM i just installed these in my projectors and they are a perfect fit and look factory. They work great and they arent 6000k to me look more like 5000k. my mate has a cheap 6000k in his and these look the same as the HIDs in X5s etc throw out pure white light and from oncoming look white with a touch of blue like any HID won't be disapointed

Also Woolie I would and others would also highly recommend you get some projector headlights (got some on ebay for $350) and put the HIDs in them so your not blinding everyone and at a high risk of a defect

They look cheap and nasty, i have done research on hid conversion kits. The best hid kits are the german made slimline ballast. Benefits of getting the full kit is that if a part/section of the kit is damage or broken its easily replaced then buying a whole new kit.

To be safe for your headlights stick to 35W for your low-beam. For other drivers 6000k is the max colour temp IMO. I prefer a more whiter light to than the blue tinge. Kits vary though they can say the colour temp but be different. Also only put them in projector lense headlights for your sake and everyone elses.

They take about 5 seconds to warm up so not too bad. I'll take some tomorrow night always hard to show the colour in pics but I'll do my best

    Cheers guys,

I thought is was a pretty good find but just not certain if I wanna do it yet. I'm one that wouldn't want to blind oncoming traffic too. It's good to know somebody has them and they work.

Do the series 2 have the same headlights as series 1 if I was to get some projector headlight replacements?

No they are different ive only seen brand new ones on ebay for $700 keep an eye out for 2nd hand ones. Aslong as you have projectors and they are aimed correctly you wont blind anyone

    I used these guys

    GadgetMaster

I did so simply based on good experiences from the boys on the LS1 forum. The other good thing was that gadgetmaster also matched up some LEd's for my parkers and foggies to match the new HID's. That way the colours weren't off.

Slightly pricer than the others I've seen on ebay etc but I am happy I went this way
