berlina head unit upgrade

has any1 removed a head unit faceplate from a calias in put it on a berlina.

would love to know bcoz ill be getting a berlina

i tryed on my old omega didnt work coz theres no screen connector in an omega but a berlina has a screen

Pretty sure there's still more to it than that... to start with you will surely need the whole head unit not just the face plate and I'm sure there will be different wiring needed for the air con etc

Given that my father has a VE Berlina, I've often wondered this myself. My guess though is that the Calais does have a different head unit to the Berlina. For example, the Calais head unit has an AV input for the satnav/rear DVD player, while the the Berlina's AUX input only supports audio. Also, in the place of the on/off button, the Calais headunit has a NAV button.

it would be nice to try it i know sat nav and dvd wont work. coz iive tryed it with my omega and it didnt work so i am just curious. my dad owns a calias and i got my money from the insurance so wen i get a berlina ill give it a go.

I asked this same question when I got my Berlina last year. Answer was that the head unit in the Berlina doesn't have the video capability required for the Calais screen to work, so no, it won't work. Pretty sure the Berlina unit is the Level 2 head unit and the Calais and SS-V have the Level 3 head unit. That would be a good indicator as to the capability I'd think.

i tried it didnt work i just got my new berlina and took my dads calias faceplate and no it sadly didnt work. i just wanted to know. and at least i tried but i actually like the berlina head unit
