After speaking to the warranty clerk for holden its a common problem were ever the floods have been so watch out for your cars and put plenty of rat sack down.

Yep, one thing about commodores, they're tasty, although i think ratsack's better, i noticed one starting to make a nest in another of my vehicles, so now, plenty of ratsack, traps etc, and i also leave the bonnets up, that seems to keep them out of the engine bay anyway, and so far no damage.
And yea, interested to know how you go with the insurance?

Is it still driveable? Maybe time to drive it off a cliff and claim insurance?

    Joking off course...maybe

I drove the car 2 days before pulling it out of the shed and there was no damage present, but two days later all this shit has happen . Yeah insurcance is being a bitch the car is a 09 but ive only done 9000km's as I dont drive it that much and they want to just repair the harness not replace it which I'm not to happy about. The worst thing about it is there were 3 other cars it could have chewed sitting in the back yard just glad it didn't get into the monaro sitting beside the ute in the shed , just orded an electric rat trap so that should fix this problem for good.

In just 2 days the rats caused over $6k in damage? Holy crap dude, that's some hungry rats you got there. Hope you dont have small pets or something.... might wake up one morning to a pile of bones or something!
They probably went to the car because it was warm (winter and all) and tried to start making nest. Bloody things .

Those eletric rat zappers work great.
Though I've never had a rat problem I once caught 8 mice in one day with my zapper.
My garage has been clean of mice for some time now
