Default Roof mounted brak light staying on when parkers are on and goes brighter when brakes?

My roof mounted brake light is staying on when the parkers/head lights are on, to be honest I've never noticed is this normal or a fault and if so how do I fix it?

It should only come on when your brakes are on, never when just parkers or headlights only.

The fact it gets brighter when you brake indicated you have a crossed circuit somewhere, likely in one of the rear tail lights whould be where I would start.

Start removing your bulbs in the tail lights and see if the problem goes away. If this does not point it out, either get it looked at under warranty or see an auto electriciann

If its the GTS it wont have bulbs as they are LED, try unplugging each tail light to see which one is causing the fault. Afaik these arent repairable (not by Holden anyway) and generally the who tail light assy is replaced if its failed internally.

Hey guys, completely off topic (sorry but I did do a search)

I have a series 2 sv6 ute and was just wondering if its possible to get the roof mounted brake light installed? Would it just be plug and play?

The sedan style you mean? Wont fit as the roof lining in the sedans is moulded to accomodate the brake light, ute headlining isnt.

It's about $100 in parts to replace the roof mounted brake LED + housing.

You only need to replace the LED strip which is available seperately.

Thanks for your replies I'll try disconnecting each of the lights and then if that doesn't get any results I'll try replacing the LED strip.

Or better yet, if people happen to answer his question in your thread it keeps your thread 'bumped up', which only benefits you anyway.
