Hi All,
Usual thing of reading about peoples problems, getting into the car and thinking .. is that it!
Here's the thing, my 2007 VE SSV - 35,000ks seems a tad noisey at the front end.. Its auto. If i put it in D or R etc.. i can here a tapping nose that appears to come from the engine bay. Put it in Neutral and it seems to go away (bit hard to tell over the exhaust). Defo not coming from the gear box, that never misses a beat.
Its the L98 (non AFM). I've heard about lifter issue and not sure if it's the same and i thought that was more common with the L76?
is it only when engine is under load (like you said, in gear) ?
also, does the tapping change with revs or speed or does it remain constant?
35,000km on an 07 is pretty low... very low actually. has car been sitting idle for a long time?
I'll double check but i think its only under load. And no its constant and i think goes away (again, hard to tell over the exhaust)
Nope, got it from a guy i know he worked from home and just used it on the daily run to get the kids from school and to local pub lol
Sheared flexplate bolts
Meh, dunno without hearing it.
