Hi all,
I installed a VCM OTR CAI on Saturday and all was fine. It's been p*ssing down all day (full on heavy torrential rain) and I was driving it.
Anyway, waiting in the city to pick my mrs up and the randomly the traction control light came up and said it was off, restarted car and fine. Then sitting there the check engine screen came up and the image of the engine is orange.
Ive driven back home and the car is not acting or driving any differently.
Could this be related to the CAI (MAF retained) and / or the wet weather?
Thanks
id get a dealer to check it on the diagnostics computer....... Helpfull as a hat full of ass holes but its my 2cents!!
Dont put this SH*T on You tube or nuthin ....
No worres dude..
So i got up this morning and went to work, engine light still on, pulled into servo to grab coffee, got back in car and hey presto... no more engine light. Guessing the car is just going spastic due to the extra air or the breather hose only just sits in so it may not like that either...
Asked VCM and they responded at nearly 8pm with some advice - good guys. They even told me about a local guy in Adelaide to take the car too... so may just pop in and get them to have a look anyway.
Hmmmmm maybe now's a good time for a tune![]()
Mate hit Steve up from oztrack! Do a autocal tune! He will do it from his workshop while your at home, have a talk with him, it sounds awesome!
+1 for a tune!!!!!!

If you're in the north east suburbs, try Morpowa Auto Centre. I've always had good service from them. They do work from standard servicing through to retunes, superchargers, turbochargers, aftermarket engine management systems, etc. They have the same diagnostics equipment as Holden Dealers.
i have the check engine light as well, i just put extractors and high flow cats on and it constantly beeping! Is there a way to get rid of the warning light till a mafless tune?
Love it sideways!
^^^^^
agree
I had the exact same thing, O2 sensor, family mech told me it'll make the car run a bit richer.
Yeah been pressing enter alot Luke just bugs me......
Thanks for the info guys!
Love it sideways!
I have the same issue, But mine started after RACQ jump started and Holden can not find the solution, I did get a code from them (Lost it now), I did a google search and found it to be a charging or alt problem.
Can somebody shed some light on this please?
VEs are very susceptible to warning messages (ABS, ESP etc) when batteries are on their way out. Did you get a new one or get the alternator or battery checked after the jump start?
No new battery.
I presume Holden checked out the battery and alt. Car going in for service tomorrow, will ask if they have checked. if not they can check while they have it.
Did they put the correct battery in? It may sound stupid, but mine came out of the FACTORY with a battery for a V6 not the V8 so there is a small chance your new battery is the wrong type! I Had the battery replaced with the bigger one for the V8 and no more issues with car draining etc..
Sorry for the late reply, Yes it was the wrong battery.
