Guys ,
I have a brand new VE SV6 sidi motor 22,000 kms and it has developed an abnormal noise under the bonnet left hand side under acceleration 1250 rpm and cruising in top gear at 1250 rpm > I have brought this back to the dealership and they have replaced fuel pump but with no success and has advised this is normal characteristics of these motors
Has anyone has experienced similar problems?
thanks
Scaffi
"abnormal noise" ?
more info please.... high pitched, low pitched, hum, rattle, squeak? does it sound like a belt noise, or is more mechanical like a clicking noise?
how loud we talking here? can you hear it only when radio is off, or if on at what volume level does it start to drown out?
does it change with revs? you mention it's noticable at 1250rpm, but what happens at lower and higher revs? does it only happen in 1 gear?
more info will give us a better idea to be able to tell you if it's "normal" as the dealer says, or something you actually need to pursue further.
Maybe the guys mistaking the acceleration noise for some abnormal noise :S
thats what im thinking ... is it under acceleration ... cause perhaps you have a hole or something in your airbox and its creating some induction noise ... that is on the left side ... worth a look maybe
